visual communication.
my previous entry was written in some kind of sleep-induced stupor.
i've realized that i didn't make as much sense as i wanted.
so maybe i'll make it up by typing up an ACTUAL entry.
...

so, i just got my time exposure photos...not my best work, but i perhaps can manage...i'm just being hard on myself, i guess, because i really want to do well in my photojournalism class.
i got my midterm mark last week...91%...a freaking A+...i was stunned.
previous to me going to this program, i had NO photography experience...other than playing around with my dad's dinky point and shoot camera and making a pathetic attempt at looking artsy through my photos.
getting a hold of an SLR camera for the first time was quite intimidating...i didn't know what to do with it...but i guess i managed.
my first few assignments were shaky at best...but i began to improve and get more comfortable using it...and it shows...some of my best work was done in the last few months.
it's funny too, considering the first week i had to take pictures again, it was only a few days after my grandfather had passed away.
i was ready to bail on that federal election story assignment.
but i knew he wouldn't want me to fail.
in the end, all turned out well...the photos looked great.
maybe he was looking out for me.
...
photography has made me realize that there's more to communication than just words.
a simple photo can speak louder than an news story ever could.
it brings immediate impact to the reader or viewer, to get them thinking, get them talking, get them making opinions.
that's what i want to do.
i'll have lots of opportunities to grow in this field.
i'm really encouraged.
and i'll do whatever it takes to succeed.
even if i have to wake up at 5 in the morning to get these shots.
haha.
...
i just realized, i haven't had the chance to rest since i got home from work...had to deal with a stalker incident again today.
what the hell are perverts doing in a fucking bookstore?!
*cough*
sometimes...i just don't understand.
anyways, maybe i should rest now.
'ta to all.
...peace out...
POSTSCRIPT: i might end up updating my playlist link after all...stay tuned.
