ugh.

i feel like the life's been sucked out of me.

most days have just been so tedious and pointless...especially in school.

i still think i can be highly motivated...but at the moment, i'm quickly expending that energy upon other things that are not as important.

at least i'm not the only one feeling this way.

the j-crew needs a vacation.

well, it wasn't all that bad this week.

hey, authors can be rockstars too!

i got to meet two of my favourite authors last monday--chuck palahniuk and douglas coupland.

it was a very enjoyable evening...not your typical, standard reading night at all.

the theatre at UBC where the event was held was packed...it's quite amazing how authors can draw such a crowd.

me, patricia, chris and jen (kyle's cousin) sat and waited at the theatre's foyer for about...3 hours.

the doors opened just past 6.

but it was all worth it, because we got to sit at the very front of the stage.

there was a great question and answer period...and chuck read a new short story that he's never read to anyone but us...called "mr. elegant".

he also gave us roses...and fake doodoo.

hence the name of the book reading tour--roses and shit.

by the way, i also let chuck touch my tatas.

prosthetic hand on my boob...highly enjoyable.

as well, douglas coupland read from his upcoming book, JPod, which will be released in may.

he's actually going to have a book reading for it in june...i'm most definitely going.

i want my unedited advanced copy...bookstore perks are fun.

at the end of it all, it was hella fun...i had 4 books signed...including my copy of fight club and chuck's latest, haunted.

it all went downhill from there.
school is tiring now.
i will survive though.

i think i'm giving something up for lent this year.

i normally don't do it, because i know i'll break it...but maybe if i try it, i can prove to myself that i'm a pretty strong individual.

so come monday, i, joy dela cruz, do solemnly swear...to stop eating chocolate and chips for 40 days.

eep.

let's see how this goes.

i'm binging on chocolate for the next three days.
