ahem.

i have officially survived my first year in journalism school.
and what a year it's been.
as much as it's been the most stressful 8 months of my life, i have truly gained more than i could ask for from this program...and i'm more determined than ever to become a journalist.
sometimes, i feel like i wasn't going to survive another week of non-stop stories, layout and photography, but heck, i made it.
the j-crew made it.
gosh, i'm gonna miss these guys.
...
well, i will see them sometime, not like i don't know where they live or that i don't know how to contact them...but 5 months is long, especially when you've spent a good majority of your time with these folks...we're a very close-knit group.
it's funny, you sacrifice your time, energy, and a whole lot more, and in the end you gain so much.

sorry, kyle and chantelle...it was just funny how a photo became a video...that's what you get when you're in a hurry to get off the bus.
you also end up forgetting your scarf inside the vehicle...ha!

i've also accomplished a great deal of things that i promised i would have by the end of this year.
i got my learner's driver's license (woohoo!).
i also got to meet hawksley workman...in person! (photo link on the way...still have to set that up).
and...i've officially done my very first issue of the kwantlen chronicle...the j-crew's first newsroom experience.
i'm absolutely loving my life right now.
...
but now, i'm completely free.
well, except for work days.
still got some stuff to deal with in the next few months though.
list time!
- 1. clean my room.
- 2. do my taxes.
- 3. read a whole ton of books.
- 4. learn how to drive.
- 5. go to PERU for a missions trip.
there are a whole lot more, but i'll let you know as the months go along.
i'll be blogging the whole summer through.
meanwhile, i'm a tad hungry.
